Piano Piece Pick #17 - Here's something very different... from Ukrainian jazz pianist and composer, Alexander Tsfasman. This is "Stay With Me".
At the heart of the living room sits his first love – a grand piano purchased when he was 23. “I found that having the piano placed right here gives the best acoustics so it actually fills the house with music. The triple volume ceiling allows the sound to go all the way up three levels,” he proudly revealed.
The most ostentatious detail about the three-storey mansion is a full glass elevator that links all three floors from the living room.

Zsuzsanna Foldi has been deaf all her life. Still, with her hands placed on the double bass, sitting among musicians in Budapest's Danubia orchestra, she can enjoy and literally feel Beethoven's famous Fifth Symphony.
"When I sat next to the musician who played the bass today, I started crying," she said.

If you’re going to ruin a New Year's Eve performance by punk singer and performance artist Amanda Palmer by failing to switch your mobile phone to ‘silent’, you should understand there will be consequences.
In this case, the mobile phone belonged to a track-suited man, who was quickly given up by his fellow audience members. His punishment? To complete Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1 while Palmer quaffed her New Year's Eve champagne.

Forget clapping during movements or the shrill call of a mobile – now it’s cats who are disrupting classical concerts.
A live orchestral concert was disrupted in possibly the cutest way – after a stray cat wandered obliviously onto the stage.
Weaving carelessly between the musicians during a show in Istanbul, the fearless feline soon became the centre of attention.

Syntonic Comma is a small comma type interval between two musical notes, equal to the frequency ratio 81:80 (= 1.0125) (around 21.51 cents).
Two notes that differ by this interval would sound different from each other even to untrained ears, but would be close enough that they would be more likely interpreted as out-of-tune versions of the same note than as different notes.

The comma is also referred to as a Didymean comma because it is the amount by which Didymus corrected the Pythagorean major third (81:64, around 407.82 cents) to a just major third (5:4, around 386.31 cents).
Someone commented: "My music teacher in school taught me, Eastern music has quarter tones and third tones. When I recently looked up closer what just intonation of keys means, I found the syntonic comma. The syntonic comma is about a ninth tone. There is half, quarter, third and ninth, but no eighth note I'm aware of."

This Sonata was written in the years 1946-47. Composed in the quarter tone system, it responds to a tone invented by Alois Hába.
Obi keys/synth engine reprogrammed for 24-tone music.
One of the greatest strengths of synthesis over acoustic is the ability to program alternate tuning systems - any you can imagine.
Not all hardware synths can do this, though. It is the preserve of only a few - and one of the strengths of DSI instruments and the OB6 i.e. creating and installing your own tuning system on the synth.
