Teaching Details
I taught many students. Some learn because they are asked to, some learn because of self-urge to attain additonal skills and recognition in piano-playing, some learn piano due to the need to perform in public, some learn for their own music enjoyment, and some learn because they aspire to become music teacher themselves. I customize teaching materials and adopting different emphasis to cater for different needs, and also different temperament, and interests.
Regardless, the correct piano-playing technique need to be instilled in anyone aspiring to be musician. Also, any performer must do justice to the music he plays, and hence, any details, be it notes, or performance details, or interpretation, needs to be observed. Mood and style need to be conveyed effectively. Last but not least, music must be played with passion. Quoting Beethoven - "To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable". For this, my top priority on a student has always been striving to instill passion in students through my passionate way of conducting lessons, and motivating students. These aspects form the foundation of my teaching philosophy.
