Teaching Details
I am a graduate from the University of London with a BMus(Hos) and hold various Diploma Certificates including ATCL, LTCL, L(MusTCL), ALCM and LLCM in organ performance. I have experience in teaching music to all age groups and specialise in teaching higher grades Classical, Pop and Jazz. I have written 2 books on theory and is able to play various instruments such as violin, flute, clarinet, guitar, ukulele and drums. In my spare time I also perform as a chorus member of the Singapore Symphony Chorus.
I am passionate about teaching and bringing out the best in my students, developing in them a life long love of Music. I believe that “the learning journey is of equal value to the end result”.
My lessons cater to the various needs and capabilities of my students and try my best in motivating them and maintaining their interest. I use a method that is fun and systematic and sometimes make use of technology in my lessons.
I am always developing myself to become a better teacher and musician. Right now I am engaged in writing materials and researching into how the keyboard can be used as a medium in music education. I have an interest in developing ensemble skills using these instruments in a variety of ways as part of a progressive music education.
