Esteemed maestro Neeme Järvi returns to conduct Rubbra’s orchestration of the monumental Handel Variations by Brahms, a set of 25 variations based on a theme from Handel’s Harpsichord Suite No. 1 and hailed as "perhaps the finest set of piano variations since Beethoven”. He is joined by Lu Wei in the meltingly beautiful Violin Concerto by Russian composer Julius Conus, a work championed by the legendary Jascha Heifetz.
