Piano & Clarinet
Join Lingzhi, Yi Na and Pauline for an evening of great music composed by famous German composers! You will get to listen to Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D arranged for clarinet and piano, which was composed during the baroque era.
For piano lovers, we will perform one of the late solo piano sonatas composed by Ludwig van Beethoven who was a predominant musical figure during transitional period between the Classical and Romantic eras.
Moving into the heart of Romantic period, we have three lovely chamber music composed by Robert Schumann and Max Bruch for clarinet and piano.
These music will provide you with an insight and appreciation on the evolution of music through the different music eras. Programme notes on the details will be provided during the recital. So join Lingzhi, Yi Na and Pauline in exploring this amazing music journey together.

Li Lingzhi, clarinet
Li Lingzhi achieved a postgraduate diploma in solo performance from the Royal Northern College of Music (UK). She was also a recipient of the Giles Thomas Lyth Scholarship. In RNCM, she studied with Antonio Salguero from Spain and Nicholas Cox from UK. Her key repertoires are clarinet chamber music with piano, strings and woodwinds. Lingzhi's recent performances were Cool Classics at Esplanade Concourse, Muse @SAM, Ensemble Series by Singapore Conference Hall, Sayang Singapura!<Origins> with Asian Contemporary Ensemble and chamber performances in Library @Esplanade and The Arts House (Living Room).
Liu Yi Na, piano
Under the tutelage of pianist Albert Tiu, Liu Yi Na has obtained the Fellowship Diploma from the Trinity College London (FTCL). She has been involved in various performances including a charity fund raising concert, Music For Hope in 2006, as well as the Lasalle Annual Concert, playing alongside then Head of Music, Lindsay Vickery, in 2007. Yi Na also worked with him and Dr. John Sharpley at the Lasalle Creative Music Module, and has also played a part in conducting piano masterclasses for students of Tanjong Katong Girls' School in 2008.
Besides performing, Yi Na has done over 150 formal accompaniments for various instruments, including her involvement in the Singapore Youth Festival in 2009, and as an accompanist for a violinist at the 4th Singapore Performers' Festival in 2012. In her career, she has also accompanied for an SAF Band member's upgrading exam. Her other musical pursuits include transcribing and playing sound tracks and scores from computer games and movies.
Pauline Tan, piano
Pauline Tan attained a Licentiate Diploma (LTCL) in Piano Performance from Trinity College London. She performs actively as an accompanist for instrumentalists and choirs. Pauline's other musical interests include exploring jazz, pop and chinese music. She also plays the violin and guzheng. Her recent performances were with ESO Symphony and chamber music for Singapore Conference Hall ensemble series, open house @The Arts House, and library @esplanade.
