National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra
Artistic Advisor Chien Wen-Pin leads the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra in its highly anticipated Singapore debut in a programme showcasing modern Taiwanese compositions alongside classical favourites over two evenings at the Victoria Concert Hall. Veteran bamboo flautist Chen Chung-Shen premiered the Ma-Shui-Long's Concerto for Bamboo Flute in 1982 to great acclaim, and he will revisit the work with the NTSO on April 2. The evening also sees the NTSO take on Chien Nan-Chang's Dragon Dance and Brahms First Symphony. 2015 Tchaikovsky Violin Competition top prize winner Tseng Yu-Chien is the soloist for "Taiwan's Rachmaninov" Hsiao Tyzen's Violin Concerto in D major on April 3 - the concert will also feature Chung Yiu-Kwong's jubilant Festive Celebration and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.
