We would like to inform you that the original schedule for the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition remains unchanged: Preliminary auditions are set for 17–28 April, with the competition to take place 2–23 October.

We are committed to ensuring that every artist who qualifies for the preliminary auditions may participate in them. At present, no decision has been reached on a possible postponement of the auditions.

Essex pianos are designed and engineered in New York by Steinway & Sons and made in China at the Pearl River factory. There were 160 piano makers in the U.S. a century ago. There are only four major producers today. Manufacturing has shifted largely to China, Korea and Japan.

Casio Music UK has announced the release of two new and improved models in its Celviano Grand Hybrid range in collaboration with C.Bechstein.

The new GP-310 and the GP-510 models both have a new speaker system providing enhanced sound projection and reinforced bass reproduction. This is combined with an upgraded touch response that promises a more powerful performance for pianists, as well an a new enhanced AiR sound source.
