Bosso was conducting his Philharmonic Orchestra of Europe at a theatre in Foggia, in the southern Italian region of Puglia, on Saturday night when he reportedly came under pressure from the audience to play.
“If you love me, please don’t ask me to play any more,” Italian newspapers quoted him as saying during a discussion at an exhibition centre in Bari the next day.
“You do not know the suffering it causes me … I have two fingers that no longer respond well and so I can’t give as much to the music.”

Steinway & Sons have teamed up with Cameron Design House to create the Steinway Haara Chandelier.
The design is inspired by Steinway’s iconic black lacquered gloss finish, and comes complete with brass accents and the Steinway & Sons emblem.
As well as being inspired by Steinway’s classic design, the chandelier also aims to evoke a weeping willow with its delicate yet structured look.

Advice from a tuner in our team: Please maintain your piano in an environment with a humidity level between 40% to 60%.
In Singapore, the humidity level hovers between 80% to 90% throughout the whole year, and pianos placed in such environments over a long period of time can degrade and become rusty, and mouldy; and might eventually become almost impossible for technicians to repair/rebuild it back to its original/decent condition.

It was noticed that increased compression in MP3s led to a change in the “emotional characteristics” of various instruments. The research showed that motions considered neutral and negative (mysterious, shy, scary and sad) tended to be heightened, whilst more positive emotions (including happy and romantic) appeared to be diminished.
Is your child learning just three piano exam pieces, and practicing the same scales and arpeggios day in and out every grading year so that he can take the piano exam?
Sounds too familiar? Most importantly, is there anything bad with this approach at all, and is there even any good? Should you, as a parent, be concerned?

Kathy’s replies shocked me! She requested that the payments be made monthly instead of quarterly, so that they would be easier to track. She would not honour 4 lessons out of the total of 24 conducted since the last payment, as she suspected I wasn't here for these lessons. The last reply really hit me straight in the face: "I didn't check the earlier months. I trusted you, you know. Now I check this month, and it's like this!"

Among female pianists, a common question that comes up in their minds is: Can I play the piano with long nails? For all their interest and skills in playing the piano, having long fingernails may present quite a fair bit of problems when playing the piano.

One of Australia's last remaining piano-maker has just created an instrument the likes of which the world has never seen.
Most grand pianos have 88 keys but Wayne Stuart's family-run business in Tumut, southern New South Wales, has built the first known piano with an impressive 108 keys.
This means it boasts a nine octave range, unheard of on the piano until now.

“I started playing the piano when I was five years old. My older brother was actually the one who wanted to learn to play the piano, but my mom noticed my signs of interest and brought me along to piano lessons too. Later on, my brother moved to other hobbies while I stayed on, gradually appreciating and loving classical music.
Before YST, I studied in Chiang Kai Shek College in the Philippines, and then transferred to the Philippine High School for the Arts, a specialised public school, as I wanted to focus on piano. I transferred back to Chiang Kai Shek College for grades 11 and 12 as I had doubts whether or not I wanted to pursue music as a career. At the end of high school, my love for music only grew stronger and so I finally decided to pursue further studies here at YST.
Here, we get generous financial support, state-of-the-art facilities, amazing faculty, a multi-cultural and nurturing community, and countless opportunities - these are reasons why YST was my first choice for further studies. It is just too good to miss!
Coming up, I look forward to performing with my Piano peers on 11 October 2019 at the ACM (Asian Civilisations Museum)! It will be my first public performance as a YST student and I’ll get to see my peers in action. Getting to play in the beautiful museum and enter it for free is a bonus!”
