Simply put, the motif is a musical fragment from which longer notes are put together.
Regardless of how they appear in the music score, motifs are an integral part of the composition. Although it makes up only a very small part of the overall composition it appears in, it is symbolic of the entire piece.

As we polished off our arrangement of Lewis Capaldi’s stirring song, “Someone You Loved,” we felt a strong need to find a way to express the emotion in our tune beyond the bow and the keyboard. We needed a poetic love story spoken without words, but with melodic motion.
Before our last note hardly had time to rest we contacted Charity and Andres, dance world superstars who caught everyone’s attention when they captured the first perfect score on “World of Dance.”

Before our last note hardly had time to rest we contacted Charity and Andres, dance world superstars who caught everyone’s attention when they captured the first perfect score on “World of Dance.”
We had complete faith in these two artists, to tell the story that needed to be told. It turns out, Andres is likely going to be leaving for 2 years to serve a full time mission for his church. Charity is supporting him in this, but the two are experiencing intense bittersweet feelings regarding their impending partnership’s hiatus.
This is the story they told in dance to our music—a story of sadness, of support, of joy, of unity, of strength, of longing, and of unconditional love. The mastery in their choreography is unmatched and has the power to stir up tender feelings for someone you loved.

A leitmotif is an extension of the motif, and allow the composer to bring the story to another level, such as to create suspense or to bring out emotions within the listener. In doing so, the leitmotif effectively binds the listener to the series of sounds, thereby raising the level of engagement.

Re-released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jane Campion's Palme d'Or winning drama THE PIANO
The re-release of Jane Campion’s mysterious film The Piano after 25 years is a chance to taste again its fetishism and voyeurism, its strange story of sexuality denied and displaced.
It is also about the gravitational pull of death; Campion quotes Thomas Hood’s 1827 poem Silence at the very end of the credits: “There is a silence where hath been no sound, / There is a silence where no sound may be, / In the cold grave – under the deep deep sea.”@

“Forty years on, the SSO is a fixture in our cultural firmament. When it performs to standing ovations and critical acclaim in major venues like the BBC Proms, the Berlin Philharmonie and the Prague Spring Festival, it is cause for pride and celebration. The SSO continues to bring joy to Singaporeans from all walks of life, making sure that its music is not just enjoyed by a select few.”
Many factors can contribute to a superhero movie’s popularity and success. In the case of Wonder Woman, the music plays an important part. How does the melody which is made up of the notes: E-G-B-B♭, create such intense and powerful feelings? Did you also get a hint of a banshee's cry in this theme?

You know the feeling when you always keep moving up? Just like the Penrose stairs which is an impossible reality, something that fools the human eye. A similar thing can happen with tones, giving you what you call an auditory illusion. The Shepard Tone is a tone that seemingly goes up or down endlessly – At least that’s what it appears to be doing!

Lifschitz’s account of Janacek’s suite On an Overgrown Path feels intensely true to the idiom: the music’s dramatic stops and starts, its growls and screams, exhilaration and despair, its alternation between tentativeness and declamation – everything is there in bold, emotional close-up. And with Debussy’s first book of Preludes, Lifschitz shows what a master he is of colour, texture and line.

The joys and benefits of playing ensemble piano are numerous. Beyond the great sound textures that two pianists can achieve and the sheer fun of playing together, many levels of learning are also addressed.??
The term chord progression simply refers to the order in which chords are played in a song/piece of music.

Reznor’s music has a distinctly anxious tone that sets the scene for his often bleak lyrics. In the film Sound City, Reznor explains that he has a music theory foundation, specifically in relation to the keyboard, and this subconciously affects his writing.
